Leslie LeGrand is a Houston criminal defense and DWI attorney and the founder of Leslie LeGrand Law, PLLC. A native Houstonian, he began advocating for accused citizens at age 15 through Harris County Teen Court.
After earning his law degree, Leslie served as a misdemeanor, juvenile, and felony prosecutor with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office. Since entering private practice in 2007, he has concentrated on defending people accused of DWI and criminal offenses.
Leslie’s background as a prosecutor and defense lawyer helps him assess not only what the State alleges, but how its evidence was gathered, analyzed, and presented.
“A criminal accusation is not a conviction. The government bears the burden of proving its case.”
Every case begins with listening, understanding what is at stake, and identifying the evidence that may shape the defense.
Discuss the accusation, the circumstances surrounding the arrest, and your immediate concerns.
Examine the State’s allegations, procedures, reports, testing, and other available evidence.
Develop a case-specific plan designed around the facts, the law, and the risks you face.
As early as possible. Important deadlines and decisions can arise soon after an arrest, and an early review gives your lawyer more time to understand the facts and preserve available options.
Board certification is a mark of special competence awarded by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization to attorneys who meet its experience, examination, and continuing-education requirements.
Breath, blood, toxicology, and field-testing evidence should be evaluated in context. Collection methods, instrument performance, laboratory procedures, and interpretation may all warrant careful review.
