Start With The Paperwork And Deadlines

Keep your release documents, bond conditions, court notices, and any driver’s-license notice together. Follow the conditions as written and confirm your court dates. Do not assume the criminal court will handle a separate license hearing for you.

The Texas Department of Public Safety generally gives you 15 days after an ALR notice is served to request a hearing. DPS describes a different 20-day deadline from mailing for certain notices issued after consensual blood-test results. Have the actual notice reviewed promptly rather than guessing which deadline applies.

Read the official Texas DPS ALR guidance.

Prepare For Your Consultation

  • Bring court and bond paperwork, license notices, and the arrest date and county.
  • Write down a private timeline while your memory is fresh; discuss it with your lawyer.
  • Preserve messages, photos, receipts, and witness contact information. Do not alter or delete evidence.
  • List questions about work, driving, travel, and required appearances.

A short website message is enough to request contact. Save sensitive details and documents for a discussion with the attorney.
